Melchor Contracting are excited to announce that we will be supporting ‘Fair Game’ – a health charity that delivers unique health and fitness programs, and recycled sports equipment to remote and under-serviced communities.
As part of Melchor Contracting’s Aboriginal Engagement plan, we have made a commitment to support initiatives which empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Fair Game works with communities, building their capacity to promote healthy lifestyle choices which reduce the risk of lifestyle related disease, build social cohesion, and improve mental well-being.
The programs Fair Game offer aim to:
Upon launching our support of Fair Game our Aboriginal Engagement Partner, Ralph Mogridge, commented, “Our contribution to Fair Game is aligned with the commitments set out in Melchor Contracting’s Aboriginal Engagement Plan. Fair Game seeks to provide sports equipment to children in remote Aboriginal communities, which would otherwise not normally be available to them. Not only has sport been recognised as a contributing factor to building healthy lifestyles in individuals, but it’s also instrumental in drawing communities together. Melchor Contracting is committed to bringing about positive change in Aboriginal Communities. Healthy Bodies = Healthy Minds = Healthy Communities”
Melchor Contracting will offer support to Fair Game in two ways:
Our sites and Osborne Park office are receiving specially labelled blue Fair Game donation bins. We’re calling on our team, suppliers, and clients alike to utilise these bins and donate pre-loved sports gear that’s been outgrown or cast aside and now gathering dust in the garage. Details on what to donate (and what cannot be accepted) can be found on the bins, or at the Fair Game website.
January 31st 2022 marked the first occasion some of the Melchor Contracting and Elite Concrete Repair and Protection team took time from their usual roles to help at the Fair Game headquarters. By all accounts, the team (comprising both site and office based personnel) rolled up their sleeves and enthusiastically “whipped the warehouse into shape”. Other scheduled sessions to volunteer at Fair Game are being quickly filled by our team, and we look forward to finding further ways to support the invaluable work Fair Game do.
