Melchor Contracting were awarded the concrete package for the Wet High Intensity Magnetic Separation (WHIMS) upgrade on FMG’s Christmas Creek mine. The mine in an iron ore mine, located 61 kilometres south-south-west of Nullagine, in the Chicester range.
The scope for the civil works included bulk and detailed earthworks, steel fixing, formwork carpentry and concrete.
Project Features:
- 300 tonne of steel reinforcement
- 2,500 cubic meters of concrete poured
- 10 major pours
- 200 concrete pedestals (a number over 2m in height) with a similar amount of footings
